Even libraries like to get a Valentine and we did!
Today, we were shown love from legal publishers – Thomson Reuters and the Witkin Legal Institute. We say thank you to both of them for arranging a $500 donation to the public law library for Alameda County.
Our official name is the Bernard E. Witkin Law Library Alameda County – named in honor of one of the best known California legal scholars, Bernard E. Witkin (May 22, 1904 – December 23, 1995). Witkin was so highly thought of as a legal scholar, he has two California law libraries named for him – our library and the Witkin State Law Library in Sacramento.
If on this Valentine’s Day, you, too, feel the spirit to share the love with a county public law library, here is a link to make it easy – https://acll.networkforgood.com/
Thank you for your support of ACLL’s mission to provide free legal information services to the citizens of Alameda County and California all year long.
In honor of today, we share an image from our files of California Justice Allen Broussard showing some legal love to Witkin.
