Supporters of ACLL, we could use a hug. Our main source of revenues (court civil filing fees) continues to take a beating. Due to a continuing drop in the dollars that the Alameda County Law Library receives to fund its operations, our Board made the decision to cut evening hours for the Oakland location. In a few weeks, at the end of March, 2017, the Hayward Branch will be closed.
All we need is love? No, sorry, there are bills to pay.
We are moving into a month when the media and retail aisles are filled with symbols of love. Many of you will be shopping for Valentine’s Day gifts. We would like to remind everyone that by shopping at smile.amazon.com you can support the work at Alameda County Law Library. Amazon has a large variety of gifts that are perfect for Valentine’s Day including electronics, jewelry, clothing, and more.
Below we offer a online Valentine’s Day card box, just like those boxes that generations of elementary school students have made to hold the cards distributed on this charming holiday. (Do they use 3D printers to make them these days? No more gluing doilies on shoe boxes, I bet.)
You can’t put any love notes into it, but, by clicking on it, you can send some love and generosity our way. Thank you.
